To find loving parents and stable homes for the world's 143 million orphans.

Cadman Foundation Mission

  1. To help bring together orphaned children with couples who are starting or expanding their families, by offsetting the cost of an adoption.
  2. Partner with other organizations to establish foster care and vocational training programs domestically and internationally.
  3. Simplify adoption laws and processes.

About Cadman Foundation

The Cadman Foundation was founded in 2005 by adoptive parents Dana and Julie Cadman. The Cadman's adopted their three children from Russia. After the adoption of their first child, the Cadman's returned to Michigan determined to make a difference; to do something to help the plight of the many orphans that were left behind.

Shortly after their return home, Julie was approached by her doctor's nurse and asked several questions about the adoption process. The nurse, and her professional husband, a manager for one of the Big Three Automotive manufacturers desperately wanted to be parents. The nurse told Julie that they would really like to adopt internationally, but could not afford to.

This chance meeting, along with several similar conversations, convinced the Cadman's that something had to be done to help families afford adoption. Many couples that would make wonderful parents, did not have an extra $18,000-$40,000 available. The Cadman's began working on obtaining the non-profit status for the foundation. And exactly one week before they journeyed to meet their daughters for the first time, they received the official news that their non-profit status had been granted.

Cadman Foundation, a non-profit , 501(c)(3) organization, was created to provide grants and fundraising opportunities to help defray the cost of adopting. We do not believe that a family should have to go into debt to adopt a child; we are passionate about bringing together parents and orphans to create new families. With more than 143 million orphans in this world, and only 250,000 children adopted on an annual basis, we are committed to helping more children find a loving home.

Applicants must have a completed and approved home study by a qualified agency or professionally licensed social worker in the state in which they reside before they can apply for a grant or fund raising assistance. For grant criteria, see our Fund Raising / Grants page.
