Adoption Fund Raising Ideas

If you are fundraising for adoption you likely need to raise quite a bit of money. There are quite a few adoption fundraising ideas but before starting you should develop a plan and hopefully get as many people to help you as possible.

It can be difficult for one or two people to raise a lot of money, so it will be important to pull together a team of friends and family that can help you in your adoption journey. Before you jump in, we suggest you make a list of all the people you know who might help in your fundraiser. Lots of people will find true joy knowing they helped with something this important. We've also found that your example of fund raising will encourage others – many people think about adoption, but give up because they think it is too expensive. Your example can make a difference to encourage others and also show them it is possible to have friends and family give larger amounts when they are obtaining a tax deduction- through an organization like Cadman Foundation.

Here are some alternative ideas for raising funds for your adoption:

  • Garage sale / Moms-2-Moms sale / e-Bay - Turn your trash into adoption treasures.
  • Sports tickets - Many sports teams have a program where you can buy tickets from them for sale, and a portion of the ticket sales can go to your charity. Note, that the proceeds must go to a charity, not a family, so you will need to work with an adoption assistance organization like Cadman Foundation.

  • Baby bottle drives- some families have distributed baby bottles to friends and family asking them to save their change and help finance families adoptions.
  • Church fund raisers-many different ideas, but some that have been planned by youth groups are car washes, and bake sales to help specific families in their adoption fund raising efforts.
  • Candy, cookie and pizza kit sales
  • Selling crafts at art fairs, etc.
